Easter
There's hope for the hopeless
And all those who've strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
David Crowder - Come As You Are
Jesus presented us with an idea of faith that is revolutionary!
One of the most extraordinary that he did was to predict his own death, his own burial and his own resurrection. Then in front of the people who knew him best,
But the story doesn't end there...
Three days later, as predicted, he rose from the dead and was present with the very people who had watched him die.
One of the most extraordinary that he did was to predict his own death, his own burial and his own resurrection. Then in front of the people who knew him best,
and the people who hated him most,
in the most public way possible
he was brutally killed.
But the story doesn't end there...
Three days later, as predicted, he rose from the dead and was present with the very people who had watched him die.
This is what we celebrate at Easter!
The night before his death Jesus shared an intimate meal with some of his closest friends. During that meal he used
to illustrate the world changing effect that would result from his death and resurrection.
Over the years, like most significant actions, this breaking of bread has become a religious ritual. We believe it can be more than this!
This year we invite you to join us in celebrating the Lord's Supper.
We believe that Jesus' intent was
We feel that Jesus invites us
If it has been a long time
If you have never shared in the Lord's Supper
If you have been a follower of Jesus for many years
a simple loaf of bread
and a glass of wine
to illustrate the world changing effect that would result from his death and resurrection.
Over the years, like most significant actions, this breaking of bread has become a religious ritual. We believe it can be more than this!
This year we invite you to join us in celebrating the Lord's Supper.
We believe that Jesus' intent was
that this was to be an open table
....A place for sinners,
like me and you,
to celebrate what God has done for them
...Not saintly ceremony
restricted to those who are worthy
...because none of us are worthy
We feel that Jesus invites us
to come as we are and experience great grace.
If it has been a long time
since you have had the Lord's Supper ...You are welcome to come.
If you don't feel worthy
...You are welcome to come.
If you have never shared in the Lord's Supper
...You are welcome to come.
If you have been a follower of Jesus for many years
...You are welcome to come.
